Cosmopolitan

Cosmopolitan is a long-running international magazine best known for its coverage of lifestyle, relationships, fashion, beauty, culture, and entertainment. Founded in the late nineteenth century, it evolved into one of the world’s most widely recognized consumer magazines, reaching millions of readers through print and digital editions.

Stephen King’s connection to Cosmopolitan came through the publication of a promotional excerpt from his novel‘Salem’s Lot in the magazine’s March 1976 issue. The excerpt introduced readers to Ben Mears, the town of Jerusalem’s Lot, and the vampire threat at the heart of the novel, helping bring King’s emerging horror fiction to a mainstream readership beyond traditional genre audiences.
