Description
A Face in the Crowd. Dean Evers is an elderly widower who spends his evenings watching baseball on television, trying to fill the empty hours of his retirement. During one game, however, he notices something impossible: seated behind home plate is the face of a man from his past—a man who has been dead for years.
As Dean continues to watch televised games, more familiar faces begin to appear in the same seat. One after another, people from different periods of his life—friends, relatives, and acquaintances long gone—seem to be watching him from beyond the grave. What begins as a disturbing coincidence slowly becomes a chilling mystery.
Haunted by these appearances, Dean is forced to confront memories he has spent years trying to forget. As the parade of faces grows, he becomes convinced that the visions carry a message. Then one day he spots a face even more terrifying and personal than any of the others, suggesting that the phenomenon is building toward an inevitable and deeply unsettling conclusion.
